Terminal Velocity

There was a death today.

I was already in my mourning
clothes:
tidy black shoes,
modest black dress,
purse filled with tissues.
Understated. Muted.

And in horror, I watched the

freefall to death. I
froze, unable to take my eyes
away from this tragic site.

I watched as

it reached
terminal velocity,

against a bright, sunny sky.
Painfully bright,
ironically sunny.

Achieving terminal velocity

and falling…

…falling…

…falling…
until after an eternity, after hitting the ground,

I saw it die.

I only have a guess at how to interpret this but it doesn't sound like it feels very good.

Take care. I hope you are doing okay.

    1. Fur, thank you.

It doesn't, but, such is life.

    1. I only wish it were A, however it's not. But this too shall pass. I just wish some things would pass more quickly.

      Best, Kat
